Job Purpose

The Junior Accountant will support the Finance department in daily accounting activities and work closely with the external BPO team to learn and gradually internalize accounting processes within the company. The role focuses on knowledge transfer from the BPO, ERP system understanding, and supporting accurate financial reporting and reconciliations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Coordinate with the BPO accounting team to understand and support accounting processes.
  • Assist in recording accounting transactions in the ERP system.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Prepare and review reconciliations (bank, suppliers, customers, inventory, and other balance sheet accounts).
  • Assist in the monthly closing process and preparation of financial reports.
  • Support the review of invoices, documentation, and accounting records.
  • Assist in audit preparations and provide requested documentation when required.
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of accounting records.
  • Support internal control procedures and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Assist the Finance Manager in ad-hoc financial and accounting tasks.

Training & Development

  • Receive structured training from the BPO accounting team.
  • Gain knowledge of the company ERP system and accounting procedures.
  • Gradually take responsibility for selected accounting transactions handled internally.

  • Coordinate and cooperate with team members, colleagues and superiors on work issues to ensure optimal delivery of work responsibilities.
  • Prepare, verify and send periodic reports, or any other data reporting material as per work requirement and management requests.
  • Carry out any other duties as per management request or work requirements.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Up to 3 years of accounting experience.

Education and Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.

Job Specific Skills

 

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems is a plus.
  • Good Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop
  • Ability to work with external service providers (BPO)
  • Good communication skills
  • Portuguese (required)
  • English (preferred)
